    sm3d12 motor and reset

    hi guy's

i'am wondering if i make a reset with my sm3d12 it goes to the 43 east and then to zero position . (thats all oke ).

But is it possible to set the reset that the motor goes to 43 west and then to zero ? i'am asking that because its impossible to make a reset with my dish on it so each time i have to do the reset i do have to unmount the dish (c'ant go so far to the east because of a wall).

    thkx

    Saat,

From what I understand (& have experienced myself), the reset at the east limit is inherent to the design & cannot be changed. There is an electrical switch built into the mechanism which gives the (motors) processor a known reference position.

In other words, it has to go to the east limit (to find it's mechanical position) and then it goes to the zero reference position. I understand that if it's driven to the west limit (by any means), it will reverse & rotate to the east limit to reset itself.

If the dish, or motor, hits an obstruction; it will also reverse to try to avoid damaging itself. When this happened to me (dish hit tripod leg) it broke some teeth out of its gear train & had to go to factory for repair.

Unfortunately, the only option you have is to remount your dish installation so it doesn't hit the wall before it goes to the east limit.
