Massive waves smashed into coastal areas in South Asia and Africa last week, killing tens of thousands of people and displacing many more. Children account for a large proportion of casualties in the eight hardest-hit countries. The victims of the disaster need food, water, medical supplies, tents and sanitation facilities. Given the dire state of affairs, it's hard to imagine a more valuable effort to contribute to at this time.
