I purchased a
DP34 switch for dish network back on August 12th. I didn't have a chance to open it up and install it until just today. I go to install it, and I see a green "defective" sticker on the back of the switch. I figure that it must leftover from when it was refurbished, and I continued the install. Well I connected the switch to the dish and did the usual check switch routine. Upon completion of the check switch routine I got the you have fewer active satellites than you previously had message, I pressed save and looked at the switch status. It doesn't detect any switch on the check switch screen. It just lists it as "unknown. I thought maybe it was connections so I went through the process of eliminating as many as I could. It didn't solve the issue. If I connect the receiver directly to the Dish Pro Twin LNB, it works fine after doing a check switch. If I connect it to the switch it doesn't receive a signal and the switch is listed as "unknown". I know I connected everything correctly, so the only conclusion I can come to is the switch is DOA. Is there anything that can be done about this? It's past the 15 days for an RMA, but I wasn't able to even gain access to the package until just recently. It seems that green sticker that I removed thinking that it was leftover from the refurbishing process told a true tale.
I would appreciate it if someone could help me out.
