GD-280 stuck at West end, with red blinking West LED

I have tried to reset the motor via coax and holding east west. The LEDS blink, but the East one blinks Green, the West one blinks RED. (I assume this is the reset mentioned in the book). However, once the green east LED stops (about after 5 secs), the West continuously stays blinking red.

if I press either of the east or west buttons on the motor, I hear a click, like a servo or relay switch.

receiver driving the system is SonicView 8000HD. tried hooking up a friends SV4000, but same result...

Please help me troubleshoot!

EDIT:I meant DG-280, although the slip with GD might as well be on purpose...
