Stuck DG 240

I am helping a friend install/tune his fta system, and have run into an unusual problem. I took my satellite meter to his roof, and was going to fine-tune his antenna.

His antenna moves to the west accurately. When he tries to move it to the east, the antenna stops at approximately 97 degrees (IA5).

Have tried to reset it via the receiver.

Have removed the limits via the receiver.

Have also disconnected the coax, held the buttons for over 5 seconds, and then reconnected the coax. The lights do not flash as the manual says for the motor reset; and the motor will not go past the 97 degree position.

However, when using the receiver and telling the motor to go to 0 position, it will do that. The 0 position is approximately 87 degrees at our location, so the motor is capable of moving pas the 97 degree location.

Am I missing some little step in resetting the motor, either through the receiver or via the hard motor reset?

The motor had performed up until this point. It appears that it has some limit set in it, and we cannot figure out how to get past it.

Any suggestions are welcome.

P.S. The receiver works fine for satellites 97 degrees and west...

Don't know what kind of box you have to drive your motor, but check the limits in the corresponding setup menu and ensure that the limits are cleared. Also if you disconnect the power from the motor, and press the east and west for about 5 seconds, and reconnect the power this should reset the motor to original configuration. I hope this helps, if you have any photos available please post them, I'm tryng to setup a DG-380 but I have not received any feedback from Sadoun yet. Since the DG's are all similar I'm maybe a photo will help me setup mine.

Have done all you suggest already with no results. Limit cleared in receiver; disconnected coax; pressed both buttons for 5 seconds plus; then reconnected coax. Motor still stops at approximately IA5 (97).

Any other ideas?

Hi. I am trying to get my DG380 to work, also. I have the Mercury II receiver. I got the dish to move once, tried to go to 97° and it went all the way east and limited out, and is stuck there. I can't get it back to zero. Have tried all the suggestions in the receiver book, in the DG380 manual and on forums, but it won't move again.

I tried to attach a pic of my installation but don't know if it worked or not.

Any info appreciated. Regards
