Latitude Reading

Hi:

Would someone please help and give me the correct latitude reading in the picture in link below. I would like to amke sure I am reading it correctely.

It should be the edge of the plate, so from what your picture is showing, that is about 42.

Thank you very much. So if my latitude is 40.3, the edge of the plate should point to between 40 and 41? or do I need to adjust for something?

Yes. Sometimes you just have to play with it to get it right.

Yes for which question between 40 & 41 or adjust for something. If it is for the latter, what is that something and how.

I would set it at 41 it will track the end of the arc better.

also set your dish elevation about .5 degrees lower this way you should be able to track the whole arc without any problems.

remember this is just a starting point the end result may be different as long as you track the arc from one end to the other is all that matters.
