I can see where the SatHawk 3K will be an awesome "buddy" when I work on my new dish and motor. I have read a lot of nightmare stories about setting up FTA dish motorized systems. And, this "spotter" looks like it can do the job with ease. Maybe, I'm wrong but I'd like the chance to test your SatHawk 3000 Satellite Signal Identifier and find out for myself.

Have pole mount next to the horse pasture and they sometimes lean over, hit my dish

I am interested in testing your SatHawk 3000 Satellite Signal Identifier. Since I have become interested in FTA along with satellite reception, all the various contacts (people outside of internet forums) I have made simply suggested a "hit or miss" technique. I was hoping there would be a greater "local" support group. I have remarked that a unit similiar to the SatHawk 3000 Satellite Signal Identifier would work wonders with setting up my motorized dish. No "local" had any such unit, to borrow, but all agreed that this type unit would save time and ensure accuracy.
I definitely would find use for the SatHawk 3000 Satellite Signal Identifier.

The satellite ID and BERT capability are very helpful in quickly aligning a dish. Due to dish imperfections, subtle transponder asymmetries, etc, the point of maximum signal strength may not always result in the lowest BER (highest quality,) especially if there are obstacles near the beam i.e. looking through a gap between trees, etc. This instrumenty allows fast tweaking of the BER.
