No wonder, this is a city of 7 million people.
BTW, it is illigal to own a satellite dish in Syria as well. But, this law is not enforced.
Wow, if this is true, it is a major disappointment to see such a misleading photo in Tele-Satellite. It definitely makes one doubt their credibility. The picture is clearly labeled "satellite dishes in Tehran" in the magazine.

I like the magazine and read it regularly. It is a leading industry publication. I expect it to have high credibility. So, there is gotta be an explanation on how it could have happened.
The article is a country report on Iran. The picture is explicitely labeled "A look into one of the housing areas in Tehran: nearly every home is connected to a dish either on balcony or on roof ". So, it is not just a background picture to illustrate a typical satellite equipment penetration in a mid-Eastern country.
If you label your picture like that, you better have good reasons for that. If you can't verify your sources, you shouldn't publish it. It sounds like someone was after a quick buck or trying to sensationalize the topic. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I was certainly mislead by it.
I hope the magazine publisher sees this discussion and explains what is happening and/or draws conclusions.
