Do you have a BUD install Kit (2 way diseqc switch, 2 x hi freq splitters, rg6 cables)?

Try connecting the KU cable directly to your 301IR receiver. Use your analog receiver to move the dish (let's say to Telstar 5). Your 301IR should be configured to the right KU LNB type.

Select Telstar 5 on your 301IR, check to see if you are getting signal and quality. If yes, do a channel search.

I do have a bud slave kit and did do the wire hook up. Now my c-band is configured to work on ch4, the 301 on 3. How do I switch them to the same chanel? also the screen is running. I think I might have put in on Pal by mistake. How do I change it back?
Will try hooking the K band directly to my DSR. I will let you what happened!
thanks for the info

to solve the rolling problem.

Check the back panel of your 301 receiver. There should be a switch to change the channel output to 3 or 4

Help, The instructions for the DSR-101 to reset the receiver back to NTSC did not work  Tried to do it all weekend. I thought maybe if somebody else tries it, it will work. But it did not! Any other suggestions? I have had the receiver for 3 weeks and it only sits there...getting close to loosing my patience with it! Any suggestions are really welcome! Thank you!
