Newbie -- Globecast DVB or other? some ?'s

Thank you for your time and consideration. At your convenience, feel free to (try to) answer any or all of the following question. I've arranged them in priority.

I'm a newbie that has not yet purchased any equipment. Am thinking about the globecast dvb receiver. Is the globecast unit the only one that has a smartcard to decode some of their gloecast channels? A generic question for all DVB receivers is, "Will all the DVB KU channels be output in NTSC?" sure would like to have an intergrated DVR, but Globecast doesn't offer one. Would probably port it over to a HDD-DVD,R recorder. I like sports, news, and movies in English. MHz Worldcast channel looks like a possibility. Are there any European channels that carry basketball. I'm located in Seattle, Washington and have heard that elliptical dish is much better than circular. Intelsat 5 and the R-10 are main targets. Is it worth trying for other birds? Is it just a myth that wild feeds are on KU instead of C band? lionanimal lionanimal@yahoo.com
