globecast versus other receivers

Hello,
I would like to get a FTA satellite system, but I don't what is my best bet.
Most of the installers in my area only support Globecast, so I'm kind of leaning towards it.
Yet, I don't really understand what would be the difference if I went with some other manufacturer (i.e. Fortec, etc.) instead (in terms of programming).
Would I still be able to get the same FTA channels regardless of what I go with?
The only difference I've seen is Globecast offers some monthly-pay channels which I've been told I can't get unless I use their receiver.
Is there anything else I'm missing in making this decision?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

If you're interested in channels that provided by Globecast (Scrambled) then you can choose their receiver as you will get support on it. Also Globecast receiver has a place to insert a card that is provided by Globecast to whatch scrambled channels you pay for. Most other receivers do not have that. But if your interests is in FTA channels then you can get other kind of receivers. Samsung is a good receiver, the best and most expensive is 3800 model, Newer model is 4700 which is cheaper. Fortec star lifetime is also a good receiver but does have some issues.( doublicate channels when rescan, slow processor, hard to move channels, ...)
