DB-6600 + Quality meter and Signal Meter (New Guy)

Hello Everyone,

I'm new at this and I would like for someone to give me a hand. I got a used BEC-6600+ Receiver from a friend of mine. I have been trying to get it to work so I can receive Telestar5 channels, but i cann't get it to work. My signal meter is getting all the way up to 90% and my quality meter changes between 20% - 60%, but I still cann't get any kind of signal. I also noticed that the signal meter and the quality meter change even without hooking up the cable. I'm really confused and I don't know what to do...Please someone let me know what might be the problem. Maybe, my dish is not hooked up right or maybe the receiver is messed up...I'm really confused...Thanks

With that model receiver the signal and quality levels will turn from white to yellow when you find the satellite; otherwise they show white levels even though the dish hasn't hit the sat yet.
