Should I purchase a DBS-2000 or other brand?

The specs and 3 years warranty on the DBS-2000 are very attractive, but for those that already own one, would you recommend it?
I have an Fortec 786v3 but want to purchase another receiver, is the Lifetime line, Pansat or Coship better units?

HAUNDAI cars, beleive it or not, have 10 years mfg warrantee. Does that make it better than a Mercedes that has only 3 years warrantee??

Nice answer but it doesn't help at all, I never asked for differences in warranty but just some personal experience with this particular model compared to other brands, since this is a BEC forum it was only appropriate for me to ask and for someone with actual knowledge to give me the right answer.

THE BEC 2000 RECEIVER IS A GOOD INEXPENSIVE FTA RECEIVER. IT IS EAYIER TO SET UP THEN ANY OTHER FTA UNITS I HAVE TRIED OUT. THE REMOTE CONTROL IS POORLY MARKED AND THE OWNERS MANUAL IS ALMOST WORTHLESS. IT DOES STRANGE STUFF SOMETIMES LIKE BEING UNABLE TO TURN OFF.{HAD TO UNPLUG TO FIX} THE CLOCK KEEPS CHANGING TIMES ALL BY ITSELF.
DESPITE THIS, YOU CANNOT BEAT ITS OVERALL VALUE. THERE ARE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE THAT IS BETTER. IF YOU DECIDE TO GET ONE, I SUGGEST USING THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS AVAILABLE IN THIS FORUM, AND YOU WILL BE WATCHING TELSTAR V IN NOTHING FLAT. GOOD LUCK, I HOPE THIS WAS OF SOME HELP.

Not sure I like the overall tone of that post, jsquare... :x There will be no flaming other members, whether its a direct flame or a tongue-in-cheek flame. Keep it up and you'll find yourself a member of the Reader's Only Club...

I've had troubles with my bec 2000 but i'm still not sure if it's my lnbf, or just the fact that for some reason the dish is not mounted correctly.

what has happened with me is that i get varrying qualities with different transponders. one is 68% quality (and getting a picture), and nother one is 55%...and some down to 38%.

another thing is that sometimes the one that has 68% goes down to 38% if i change channels and come back to it with no picture but if i switch around channels, it goes back up.

i know housewives who don't speak any english and can barely run a microwave have no trouble with their satellite dish though so i would say think twice about bec...

Fluctuation of the quality level among transponders is normal; losing picture is not. Seems like you have the dish pretty well aligned if you're getting those numbers. Try doing a master reset on the receiver to see if that solves the 'no picture' problem. You will have to rescan all the channels however... :
