DSR-2040 connectors

Bobkat, or whoever...
On the rear panel of the receiver there are two rectangular (well, trapezoidal, actually) connectors with 21 pins. They are intended for connection to a TV and decoder. I presume they are a "standard" video interconnect of some kind. I don't find any reference to them in the user guide or in the on-line specifications and product descriptions.
If I bought a new TV and wanted to connect this way what would I ask for? If I wanted to buy an interconnect cable what would the conectors be called?
Thanks,
...Genie...

Re: DSR-2040 connectors

That's the Scart output which is used in Europe. There is a Scart-Svideo converter as I remember. I dont know if Sadoun has this type of converter for sale. You might contact Sadoun for more info. Scart is not used in N.America, so you need to use whatever standard outputs (either composite or S-video) your receiver uses for the TV.

Any TV set you buy in North America will not have SCART connectors so you really don't have to concern yourself with it.

Scart conncters have a high quality picture. There are TVs sold in the USA with the scart connecters and they are called multisystem TVs. A friend of mines have his multisystem TV connected to a Fortec Star 786 and the pictures is very crispy and sharp; better than the s-video. I have a ascart to s-video adaptor, but when used with a NTSC TV the picture is always white and black.
