DSR-101P compare to DSR-2040

B-kat,
I want to upgrade/replace an existing C-band (10 ft.) analog system. It uses 24v positioner motor and +5v pulse servo polarizer. Reviewing specs of 2040 it appears to be compatible with those requirements. However, the auto search features of the 101P are very attractive. So, question (1)-- Does the 2040 have all the scan/search/software capabilities of the 101P?
[If the answer is 'yes' then the remaining questions are mostly irrelevant.]
To use the 101P it seems I will need a DS200 SatSeeker to covert DiSEqC controls to positioner motor drive; but, What about polarizer servo control??? The DS200 specs say it has "magnetic" polarizer control but I don't know what that means.
So, question (3)-- Is there a way to upgrade the polarizer to something that the 101P would work with while still using the DS200 for positioning? (I guess this is not strictly a Satcruiser question but just included it for completeness.)

Hi Genie:

The 101P will not control polarity servo motors at all. The 2040 will. The 2040 is also a digital/analog receiver so that makes a perfect match to your B.U.D.

I have never experimented with the 2040 but I have played around a bit with its predecessor - the 401P; it did have all the scan/search capabilities (and more) of the 101P.

I would suggest you go for the 2040...

Kat,
Yes, the 2040 certainly looks better for my situation. As soon as I realized that the 101P was for digital only the scales tilted away from that alternative (not to mention all the extra boxes to manage positioning and polarizer). I'll take a chance that the auto search features are more or less similar to what I see described for other Satcruiser models. That capability is not critical to my needs; it just seems like it would be fun to play with when there is a lull in TV programming, for example during the Super Bowl halftime show. :-)
Thanks for your additional input.

 During the Super Bowl is probably not an ideal time to play around with receiver configurations... if I did that it would be FUBAR and I'd miss the rest of the game...
