Coship CDVB5300B and DiSEqc 1.2

I have a lot of difficulty setting up Coship receiver with a DiSEqc dish. Any input is greatly appreciate.

Coship receiver can store up to 16 antenna positions, but it has a strange way to program the sattelites. In order to move the dish, one has to set up both East and West limits for each antenna, which mean one has to blindly move the dish to East, make sure it past the desired satellite position, set and store the East limit. Then, again, blindly move toward the western end and store the West limit. Once done, (by that time, the dish position is fully lost), one can search for the satellite. This procedure must be repeated for each satellite corresponding with each antenna. Am I wrong or are there any way to get around these dump procedures ?

Seems to me you are confusing DiSEqC 1.2 with DiSEqC -- do you have a motorized dish? I think not because you refer to "each antenna". The east and west limits apply only to a motorized system with one antenna (dish) - this is DiSEqC 1.2. Go into your receiver setup and make sure the "DiSEqC 1.2" is not selected. Then configure each dish for LNB1, LNB2, etc. depending how you have the DiSEqC switch connected.

Yes, I have a motorized dish. I found that it I only have to set limits only once before I am able to move the dish. Even that, it is still inconvenient since I have to move to extreme East then extreme West to set limit without knowing whether they cover all the desired satellites (Once the motor hits the limit, it automatically move back to position 0). I have programmed most of satellites and found that I missed G10 because it is out of the Western limit. To put it back in, I have no other choice but reset limits and slowly do the satellite search again. Coship receiver allows you to move motor after the limits are set, not in reverse. Any hints ?

Hmmmmm....

I think you should let dtsexpert have a go at this one -- he's the motor king.

I don't have Coship receiver so I don't think I can give you much help here. It's kind of weird that you have to set the limits for each sat. You might contact the seller asking if there are any updated firmware.

I have that coship reciever. Once you set your limits you can tell the reciever to find any satellites it knows about. Hit menu on the remote goto channel search then at the bottom do a search all sat. the dish will the progress from east to west limits and find what it can within its own data list and new stuff(blind search). You may not find everything within the arc.

Next you will have to look at what it found and compare that to say Lyngsat. Use telstar 5(intelsat 5) as a beginning. If it missed G10 look at the recievers list compared to lyngsat add some of the frequencies it may not have in the list. Position to the far west in channel search on a good canidate frequency and watch for the qaulity and strength bars to peak and turn orange. If you pan from t5 moving west and your limits are far enough you will snag it. try freq(11798) S/R 26660.

I also posted in programming about a great piece of software for updating a plethora of recievers and the 2300 is one of them.

Hope this helps,

Maus.
