STB problem.......

I am having trouble setting up the communications between the 6000CI and the STB editing software. I have tried various com ports and a couple different serial cables. The program will say "Please try STB power off and on" (2)" Also in the information window it says STB Model: none and Source: None. Perhaps the info doesn't change until contact is made with the receiver In my computer hardware I have tried default serial speed as well as trying the max of 115,200. It sure would be great to get this to work. Any help appreciated.
