Thai TV is on Telstar 5 satellite

Watch the Thai TV channel on Telstar 5 (97 W) satellite. It is FREE to Air and requires a complete digital satellite system.

See the list of systems here:

Unless you live in Asia, this satellite is not visible from the USA. You have to have a clear line of sight to the satellite to get a signal.

A cambodian channel just came on via T5. Look at Lyngsat.com or do a rescan of the sat. STN is the channel I believe.

The best place to check out what is on T5 is http://www.lyngsat.com/t5.shtml
As far as I know, the currently FTA channels are:
TGN - Thai
TGN Radio (Bangkok 94 FM) - Thai
NAT - Thai, Lao, and soon some others.
VT4 - Vietnamese
CTN - Cambodian
Japan, Korean, Chinese...

Any FTA (Free to air) system will pick these up.

You might since T5 is a strong bird. But if I were you, I would get a larger dish. When it rains, small dish will suffer rain fade causing the receiver not receive enough good signal to decode.
Also, using a 24" dish to find ku linear signal will be harder than larger dish. If you have not set up Ku dish before, you will have a difficult time to look for T5 using a small dish.
Good luck,

Good luck,
That is very true. Its hard enough sometimes to find signal even with a 30" dish...
