eMTech em100 FTA

Hello all

I picked up one of these receivers recently. I was hoping that someone could give me some feedback on it. Have not set it up yet but the menu sure looks slicker than my SatCruiser 101! I realize that means nothing but....

Take Care

The em100 is a fine receiver; easy to figure out the menu. The only bizarre thing about emTech is you have to push the "i" key on the remote to show signal quality - push it again to find signal strength -- makes it kind of cumbersome when you are aligning the dish; unless, of course, you have a BirDog !!! 8)

Question EMTech 100 info ?

Im not sure if either of you still have your emtech 100 receivers or even if you either still use this site as I don't know the date you either posted this perhaps it's been awhile.
Anyway here goes.
This is not a "hacking" question :
I have also a emtech 100 receiver that was made dead by tring to put another file onto it ( this was a few years ago )! Anyway I both see you are from Upper Canada, so you may have purchaced your receiver's from
" in**** electronics " . I have also purchased my receiver here from this supplier. However before I ruined it I thought I wrote down the Model number and S/W and H/W on a piece of paper and I don't know what I did with it however here's what I think it said. em100 Model C100/H/W version 5.0 and S/W version 2.26.

I emailed EMtech in Korea 3 different times asking for this file, with no reply! I also searched their site no such file existed for this receiver there or any other file for emtech em100, I also contacted " In**** Electronics " with no response.

After a few years ( recently ) I have been handy at Jtagging receivers and now I would like to restore this receiver to "true fta " as it was originally with this receiver. I popped the cover and found a label with " in****** Electronics" name on it, under this label was the receiver board Model - em100 U.S. - Rev.1.0.0.

Question:

Can either one or both of you if you are still here tell me your Model # and S/W and H/W versions in system information. If not there your loader should tell you the version ( emedit).

I don't know if you have a copy of this software or know how to copy it so I can restore mine if it's the same as yours.

What I really need is a Jtag Dump of this file but I may be able to restore it with just a original bin (sgn) file.

If either of you or anyone else has a U.S. version em100 U.S. rev.1.0.0
file for this receiver I would greatly appreciate it.

So Im not really hacking just restoring the receiver back to original so I can view "True fta" like G10R etc.

Anyone that can help be glad to hear from you !

I've checked Homcast no such luck on this models files either in korea or U.S. !

Thanks in Advance and hoping to hear a reply soon.

Sorry but any emTech receivers I had in stock are long gone. I heard emTech is no longer being manufactured, which is too bad since it was a great receiver.

Cool Tnx For quick reply!

Ok thanks for your quick reply, I hope maybe someone else out there has the same model and can reply with some answers.

Yes it's true emtech which is now taken over by Homecast and they use the emtech boards, there are also many other clones of emtech receivers such as Astra,Atlantic,Echosat,Fortec star FTA 5000,Globalsat,Homecast Of course as well as a few more including Starsat models. They use many of the emtech boards in several models, many even look just like the emtech models except the name change of course.

Unfortunatly only a few models like the emtech 200CI and a couple more appeared in local stores here. I did like the em100 before the messing around with it on my part. Updating info was complicated at first and using the info in the book how to upgrade a satellite list through the receivers method didn't seem to work for me ,however I was able to update the sat list another way.

Sorry, you wern't able to help me out if I had of come along a year or 2 or so earlier I may have got some info from you.

Thanks again and I hope someone out there see this and can reply with the necessary information.
