Free to Air digicipher 2

This is not really about DVB receivers, what I would like to know is if there is a receiver available that will pickup the unencrypted digicypher 2 signals such as PBS on AMC 3. I have been playing with my Starchoice receiver 401 model but no luck there.

Thanks

well guarded Motorola secret

Even to be able to remap the frequency map and get the 401 to recognize other satellites. I see lots of talk on the 4DTV forum about C-band and the motorola receivers that handle that but nothing on the 401. It seems everyone else is very interested in "testing" but I don't see any comprehensive information in any of the forums I visit, just bits and pieces.

Thanks

HeHeHe  That's what I meant by "well guarded secret"; many of the guys on that forum are current or ex Motorola/GI engineers. They know a hell of a lot more than they post on the forums -- trust me. As for the Navigo 401 you won't find much about it since it is built for StarChoice and is not really worthy of note - at least not for those forum folks  There is no way to manually enter transponder data on that receiver so you cannot play around and pick up free DCII stuff - I had a Motorola DSR-905 receiver that was "semi" manual; I played around a bit with it to manually enter some channels but it got pretty boring...
