Unusual shift in my arc
The other day, after putting my H-H motor through its paces by doing a power search of about 12 - 15 satellites I noticed that I had a 2 degree shift in my satellites. For example, I was getting Galaxy 19 (97w) at the 99W setting. All other sats were also shifted up. First I thought it might have been a loose bolt (not the case, mine were tightened down good), then I thought it might be a shift in the concrete base that I recently poured. It happened to be a very hot day so perhaps the heat caused some type of warpage? Not sure.
Well, what I did was go to DiSeQ option on my Galaxy 19 setting, set the motor to Go To Zero, then checked the motor itself to see if it was on zero. It was dead on. Next I used the buttons on the H-H motor and turned the motor fully in each direction, then set it back to zero. Back into the house I went, set that satellite back to USALS, and all was well again, no need to have repointed the dish. Wondering if anyone has experienced this. |

I've had something similar to this happen and I never figured out exactly how. It all started when I unhooked my Fortec Lifetime and plugged up my old BEC 6600+. (I was selling to a friend and was getting it checked out). I thought the BEC supported USALS, but it only had a setting for diseqc 1.2. I moved the dish east and west until I was on my desired satellite and tried to store it. Next thing I knew, the motor's 0 was reset to the satellite position, and when I hooked it back up to the Fortec, all my USALS satellite positions were off by 20 degrees.
After much frustration I finally managed to find my old motor manual and do a hard reset after I manually realigned the motor shaft back to 0 degrees. |
