Question Polar Mount For 6ft Fortecstar Dish

Hi I am wondering where could I purchase the polar mount for a 6 ft Fortecstar dish that I purchased at Sadoun.com 2 years ago. I saw these dishes are coming out with the polar mount now but I dont need another dish just the polar mount. I am planning to add it an actuator to start moving it.

thanks..

Have you called SADOUN by any chance?

Hi BYX, I actually sent them an e-mail and they told me they only sell the polar mount as a single unit and I dont wat to buy another dish just for the polar mount. That's why I decided to post here in the forum to see if someone knows where I could get it.
If Sadoun.com could sell the polar mount as a separate item they could probably sell the polar mount and the actuator to all the customers like me that purchased this dish when the polar mount was not being offered.

thanks..

Yes Champ, I am in the same position. I bought Sadoun's package with a HH180 motor that included a 6ft dish without a polar mount. The motor broke in two twice and my dish got damaged both times. Now I would like to get a polar mount with the more reliable actuator but Sadoun won't sell one.

Oh well. Perhaps there are just not enough of us for them to warrant different orders from the manufacturers.

I Hope Sadoun.com can sell the polar mount as a separate item to all the customers we purchased this dish in the past.

thanks..

if you look at the polar mount it don't look like it would be that hard to construct from products you could pick up at your local hardware.

Another thought is to use any recycled polar mount and clamp or modify the mount to attach the dish similar to how the Sadoun polar mount and dish attach just remember to center the mount and the hole in the dish....I use an Orbitron SX-12 spin mount with an Andrews 6ft spun aluminum commercial dish with very good results. With this I can fine tune the LNBF skew from the rear by turning the whole dish on the mount before final tightening of the "J-bolt" mounting bolts.

yeah guys - I'm in the same boat.
I wanted to put back up my 6'-er - and would be nice to just buy the polar mount and related stuff. I finallly have some spare cash. No response from Sadoun.

I'll just take it apart and store it. Eventually I'll probably throw it away when it gets in the way.

Ok, it seems we have demand for polar mounts for 6' & 8' dishes (we get calls on these). I will research the market and if I find some, we will add it to our product offering.
