Invacom Problem?

Is it possible for an Invacom LNBF to be affected by the heat of the day? I started experiencing a signal problem whereas during the daytime (11:00 am to 7:00 pm) I get no signal from my 30" motorized dish system. I live in the SW where daytime temps reach 110 degrees. It's the only solution I can think of. My other system just has a normal legacy LNB and it doesn't skip a beat.

First time I hear something like that, but with electronics everything is possible.
To the best of my knowledge LNB's are mare to withstand high and low temperatures, but of course there must be a breakpoint.

Have you checked the LNB for the possibility of condensated water inside?

Or maybe accumulated water from rain? Even that this has nothing to do with temperature wouldn't be a waste of time to check.

Vitruvius will become famous soon enough
hmm

I've read about this problem in another sat forum... don't know where. You can try a google search.
Someone suggested when it is hot out and your signal is getting poor... try pouring cold water on the LNB and see if your signal changes.

The condensation and steam sounds like a good theory as well. I've read about some people's INvacom gettin filled with water...

good luck

it sounds like it has became heat sensitive this is not abnormal when you loose the signal try putting a icepack on the lnb and see if the signal comes back if it does than it's heat sensitive and you will need a new lnb.
