they are basically the same thing they both move the dish. most motors are Horizion to horizon where as a actuator push and pull the dish on a smaller arc. first pic is a actuator the 2nd is a hh motor.

    Thanks Rainman,
So The Actuator is to move the dish in "Manual" and the motor is "automatic" mover..ok?
what is the best way to move one C band dish (example: FS08 240 cm )?
What is the best way to move more Horizon in the arc (example: between Intelsat 11 at 43 w to AMC8 at 139 W)?
I wish to get a C Band Dish and get more breadth to catch more satellites in the Arc and watch more free channels. what you recommend to me?.I live in texas
    thanks again

oK, So My Only way If I wish to get a 2.40 cm dish and get More breadth in the Arc in C Band is to get an actuator and ALWAYS Go to my House roof to switch satellite that I require to watch..
What about the Sadoun Power Tech V3000 (Gbox) ? I read that is the Actuator Controller. With This Device, Could I to Manage my actuator from My bedroom through my receiver Coolsat?
    thanks for your support

Yes, get yourself a Heavy Duty 36 volt Actuator for your 2.4 meter dish and a Gbox to power the Actuator Automatically from your Coolsat.

    motor positioner gbox

I woild like to follow on this discution regarding c band, I bought a 1.8cm prime focus which I plan to use with my coolsat 4k, I did not installed yet since i'm still gathering all the items required. the question is, as follows, I already have a 36" dish with a hh motor sg2100 which works fine and I learned how to use it very well. Now the question when setting up the 1.8 cm dish, coolsat and actuator, the operation will it be the same as the hh motor, or do I need anything elso such this positioner/controller the I hear aboud but not quite understand its purpose. my understanding is that you caan move the dish via satelliate receiver using the actuator more or less as the hh motor. so basically, if I don't have this positioner/ controller (gbox) my system will not work? any info will be great. thanks guys for all your help.

LOL... yes 1.8cm is a small dish.. they had those in that movie Transformers II.
But for real - Yes, you need a separate controller to move the actuator on your big dish. If you have only one receiver then use that to control your 36" motor through the coax cable to the LNB. If you install your actuator on the 180 cm dish you can use a V-Box to move the actuator and position your dish to align to the sats. This is what I am doing. I have one receiver that goes to a Disequ switch and then 3 coaxes going from the diseq switch to the Ku-band and C-band LNB on my big 200 cm dish and to the motor on my 36" dish which connects to its LNB. My V-box is connected only to my actuator and not to any coaxes. It is kept out of the loop because you cannot have multiple motors connected to one receiver.

    hope this helps.
