first set the motor latitude scale to your latitude, then set your dish angle for your area then set the dish on the pole for the azimuth for the sat you want to receive. see Sadoun.com
under technical support alot of helpful cacalators to get the numbers for your area.

if you do not set the motor to your lattitude it will not track the arc properly so sst the motor to 40 on the lattitude side then use dish elevation adjustment to fine tune signal.

ok lets start at the beginning.
1. set motor azimuth to 0 ( reference on some receivers) 2. set motor lattitude scale to 40.5 degrees 3. set dish elevation to 24 degrees 4.set up transponder to 11741 horiz sr to 6616 5. loose the birddog and use a tv and receiver at the dish 6. set the dish and motor on the pole to 192 degrees on the compass set the lnb to 0 at this point (cables pointing at the ground) 7. use usuals and move the dish to SBS6 8.mark the mount and pole so you know where you started 9.move the whole assembly on the pole east and west to find quality signal on the receiver if get know quality start back at beginning mark raise or lower the dish by 1 degree and try east to west again repeat untill you receive quality signal.(remember slow small movements allow 15 seconds between move for receiver to see the changes) 10 after you receive quality signal make minor up and down east and west adjustments to get best signal then check other sats to check quality fine tune as need.

HI, I'm a new baby here. I have the motor SG2100, and 85cm dish size. I tried to get all sat with my QPH-031, but I got nothing except 97W only. I don't know what I did wrong? Can someone help me out? Here is my info
Your LocationSatellite DataDish Setup DataLatitude: 29.9601° Longitude: -95.4616° Name: Moteck SG2100 Distance: 36781km Motor Latitude: 30.0° Declination Angle: 5.0° Dish Elevation: 25° Elevation: 55.1° Azimuth (true): 180.0° Azimuth (mag.): 176.4° Right now, my dish is at 25, and my motor latitude is 30 |

You say your are getting 97W are you getting a picture. What kind of receiver do you have.
Is 97W your most south satellite. Are you using USALS to move your dish. Is your dish moving. What is your zip code. To see your most south satellite go to Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com You must have a switch at the dish, bypass it until you have the system working. All satellites in the antenna setup must be the same on the linear side of the LNB. The LNB is standard setting is 10750 for Linear and 11250 for Circular. ALSO read post #6 above and use your settings.......... Good luck See LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite for satellite listings

Thanks for your reply, Yes, I just got only 97w with picture, and I couldn't get the others sat. I'm using Pansat 2500A converted to PUFF. My Zip code is 77067. I'm living in Houston, TX. My dish is moving both sides really good, but I don't know how to adjust to the right degree to get others Sat. Can you help me out or give me any idea. Thanks alot

You might want to research the PUFF option on the internet, there could be problem with it.

Thank Jim-S, I will try and see how my dish and my motor work. One more thing, Can you tell me which sat is using Linear and which sat is using Circular? Maybe, it will help me to figure out and check my dish and motor.

I can't list them all but you can use this site. Echostar, Directv are circular...you will see from list what is and what ain't.
