first set the motor latitude scale to your latitude, then set your dish angle for your area then set the dish on the pole for the azimuth for the sat you want to receive. see Sadoun.com
under technical support alot of helpful cacalators to get the numbers for your area.

i have 1 meter dish winegard i have it set but my meter showing its a strong hit sbs but then on tv not show that im on 74w.
i have sg2100 at 3 lines down from 40 i think thats right.
my lat is 40
my long is 74
i left the motor seting alone set the dish it self to the birdog meter .thats why i dont want to move it .but i should be geting direct hits on what ever sats are to left and right . if i go to 65. as a refrence east cant get it unless i tip the top of dish standing bihind motor towards me

if you do not set the motor to your lattitude it will not track the arc properly so sst the motor to 40 on the lattitude side then use dish elevation adjustment to fine tune signal.

ok lets start at the beginning.
1. set motor azimuth to 0 ( reference on some receivers)
2. set motor lattitude scale to 40.5 degrees
3. set dish elevation to 24 degrees
4.set up transponder to 11741 horiz sr to 6616
5. loose the birddog and use a tv and receiver at the dish
6. set the dish and motor on the pole to 192 degrees on the compass set the lnb to 0 at this point (cables pointing at the ground)
7. use usuals and move the dish to SBS6
8.mark the mount and pole so you know where you started
9.move the whole assembly on the pole east and west to find quality signal on the receiver if get know quality start back at beginning mark raise or lower the dish by 1 degree and try east to west again repeat untill you receive quality signal.(remember slow small movements allow 15 seconds between move for receiver to see the changes)
10 after you receive quality signal make minor up and down east and west adjustments to get best signal then check other sats to check quality fine tune as need.
