SG2100 will not work with a FORTEC STAR FC120CM dish

Hi i just bought a SG2100 and a FORTEC STAR FC120CM dish from sadoun.I have come to find out that the Sg2100 cannot move the fortec 120cm dish back up the arc once you go to a far west satellite. If i go to G10,echo 121 etc the dish will not return eastward.I have to go outside and manually push the dish to make it move back up the arc. This is a real bummer. The SG2100 says it can handle 1.2 cm dishes but i don't think this is true because the fortec 120cm dish is very light compared to other dishes.I can see no way i can use this dish with the SG2100.Does the stab hh 120 have the same problem with this dish?Does anyone have the SG2100 working with the fortec star 1.20 cm dish.I cannot find one post with someone using this dish and the SG2100.I read several good comments on the site about this motor but on the fortec 1.20 it will definely not work.

You're probably right, but I wonder about whether a counter weight of some kind might help. I tightened down the bolts too much on my 10' dish, and it got so that my motor couldn't move my dish in the winter, so I bolted on a counter-weight bar, and hung a big log from the bar. This helped a bit, but not enough, and I'd still get stuck near my west horizon, so I connected a bungy cord from the log to a nearby tree.

That seemed to work well enough for me to get back from the far west sats. Eventually I figured out that all I needed to do was loosen the bolts, but the counter-weight thing helped until I figured that out.

I had a fortec 1.2m dish on sg2100 for a while and it worked fine. The only issue I had is that my motor already had alot of mileage on it and there was quite a bit of give.

I have been using HH120 for about a year now with my dish nd I have not had any problems.

I wonder if how far north you are relates to how well the sg2100 works with this dish? Ie for someone at relatively northern latitudes, the motor axis will be pointing higher, and the angle of attack when lifting from an east/west sat will be less, and the motor doesn't have to lift as much, however someone at southern latitudes, the rotation axis of the motor is more horizontal, and the motor will have to lift more of the weight of the dish.

I assume that the length of coax would also be a factor. Maybe with a long coax run, you lose to much power for the motor to lift this dish?
