I think you can figure this out by measuring the difference in angles between the rotation axis of the shaft coming out of the motor versus the angle of the shaft where the dish attaches. Ie most of these motors seem to have a shaft coming out of the motor which should be aligned nearly parallel to the earth's axis (ie pointed to north star), but then this shaft bends down so that the dish can attach more conveniently. Without this downward bend of the shaft, you would have to set the dish angle to a negative number, ie your declination angle, which you won't be able to do on most dishes, however this downward bend allows you to set a positive number on the dish and still get an overall negative number.
On some, the shaft coming out of the motor may be too short to see much of, but I think you can estimate what angle it is coming from.
