Help hooking up my sg2100 motor

Hi guys sorry, i post so much stuff, but this is my last try i really need help. its been a couple days no, i am getting frustrated, this is my information

but i am new to this things, i mean i had my satellite hooked before by some one, it was on t5 on my roof, but now i have a motor, and i am trying to hook it up,

oh yah my motor is sg2100
and my reciver is coolsat, I just got that by the way, i am excited, but right now i have nothing to watch lool
so any ways
this is my latitude and longtitude

42.9 N, 85.6 W

i am not sure, which is satellite is my true south
here is a couple ones

am3 at 87
amc 9 at 85 ( by the way this is not in my satellite list)
nimiq 2 at 82

satcom k2 at 81
so which one should I select,

and according to my motor manual for my latitude the elevation should be at 47, now is that for the motor or the dish??
and if thats only for one, what elevation should my dish be set at, and whats declanation angle, and my dish, theres only one place and it says elevations, theres no where that says, declination angel, and if thats how much the dish goes up and down isn't that the same as elevation??

and depending on which satellite is my truth south, what is my azimuth, and what number is it supposed to be pointing on my compass, sorry i'm confused about magnetic deviation process, so i will really appreciate the help, i hope i get lucky this time too, its beeen a couple of days now.
so please please help

I am going to all the forums i can or i find, so please please, help me

thanks in advance

A.M

Your true south satellite is the one that is closest to your longitude. In your case I would use AMC3 at 87W. It is a good satelite to use because it has few transponders that are quite strong and always on.

Check out http://www.lyngsat.com/amc3.html to find a transponder. Since your setup is ku band, look fo rfrequencies of 11700+. PBS Mux at 12110H 14025 SR has always been good for me.

On your motor. You should have two scales. One side hase your elevation, the other has your latitude. Just ignore the elevation one nad set the latitude one to match your latiitude 42.9.

Your setup will still point south (+/-your mgnetic deviation). You will use usals on your receiver to move the dish to AMC3. And then you can peak your signal.

By polarization I am guessing you mean if it is V or H. I don't know much about your receiver, but polarization is part of transponder that you are selection. For example the 12110H that I told you for AMC3, H at the end means it is horizontal polarization.

LNB setting depends on what kind of LNB you have. Ku lnbs come as either universal or standard. Universal LNBS (like ones Sadoun sells) will say on them 9750/10600, standard will be 10750.

From looking online, it seems that your lnb is universal so you should seti it for 9750/10600.

Don't worry about skew. Skew is irrelevant for Ku band.
