rotation speed of Satcontrol motor

A few days ago I installed the satcontrol motor for a friend and i noticed that its rotation speed is WAY slower than the SG2100. Is this true? What happens is, at some random time when I go from sat to sat it goes faster than usual but the "usual" is very slow. Why would they make it like that? Or is just something faulty?

Re: rotation speed of Satcontrol motor

The speed of rotation depends on the voltage that the receiver sends out (either 13 or 18v when you select the transponder). Check the specs for more info.

do i actually "choose" that voltage or does it automatically do it depending on the transponder?

Voltage will be sent out accordingly to the polarity users select. In other words: dish at sat A and you want to move it you sat B. You can chose polarity by selecting the pre-program channels on Sat B (either H or V).

Both send out voltage. One is 13v and the other is 18v.
Good luck

Hor: 18V, Vert: 13V

Also, remember for circular LNBFs:
RH = Vertical (or just remember RV) = 13V
LH = Horizontal = 18V

alright.. let me get this straight. If I am at one satellite, and i want to go to another, if i choose a H tp on that other sat, the motor will go faster to it than on a vertical one?

Also, im surprised why the Satcontrol is slower than the SG2100. Is there any review of motors i can read?

that's correct.
I am using SAtcontrol to move 1m dish. Speed rotation seems normal to me compare to SG2100.
When you compare 2 motor, make sure you use the same dish brand.
Dish size/weight is a factor to affect the speed rotation as well.

funny thing is, i am used to the rotation speed on SG2100 + 90cm dish. It is pretty quick for me.

I put an 80cm + Satcontrol for a friend, and i guess the Vertical polarity voltage is verrry slow... like going from G10R to IA5.

You should look at the rotation speed specifications for each motor here: http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Motors.htm

Satcontrol:
18V it rotates 2 degrees/sec
14V it rotates 1.4 degrees/sec
