SG2100 installation elevation

I purchased a Fortec 30 inch dish and an SG2100 from Sadoun. Pole is plumb. Mount is pointing to true south as best I can determine with a cheap compass. The dish mount was set to 24 and the motor mount was set to 36 per my latitude. There is practically no signal until the motor mount is moved to about 31 though. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

the scale on some of the fortec dishes has been known to be off by 5 degrees leave the motor set to your lat and adjust the dish mount to receive signal.

I changed my dish mount from 24 to 31 and left the motor along; works better now; fine tuning today.
