what dish and receiver are you using?
Hello Everyone , I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and have any advice about it . My sg 2100 works ok but I can't set it to manual specs because of slack in the the tube my dish slides onto. With everyting set to what it is supposed to be it want pick up anything . With all hardware tight and all my angles set you can pull up on the dish and it will lift up about 1" . I got it to pick up 82w,89w,91w110w,119w,121w,129w, but only by making up the slack on the motor adjustment . It should be set at 55 but now its at 25 . so I'm losing my far end arc east and west . Has anyone had to shim the output tube at the motor to get the up and down slack out , any advice would be greatly appreciated , Sorry post is so long , Thanks .

Hello Rainman , I'm using a primstar 36" dish with an SV 4000 and QPH-031 LNB , the motor turns good with no problem handling the dish , no stopping and going no herkie jerkie just smooth operation from on sat to next . the allen head bolt that holds the tube onto the motor shaft is tight . Thanks for any advice .
some one didn't read the forum rules please go to the rules and read them before posting farther.

Most of the SG2100 motors come with a loss Motor dish tube. You really need to use a metric allen wrench and take out the slack. If that is good from your statement above you have not made a PLUMB and LEVEL post for your motor. It also sounds like you mav have not set your motor to your latitude correctly and that you got confused with your dish elevation.

It is definitely metric. I had to use the RED allen keys for it.....also, since the shaft itself is threaded, I found that I had to make sure that the nut was well pushed into its recess and perhaps adust it (by turning the nut to different flats in the recess) to make sure it catches the first thread and does not push itself out. That QPH-031 is a little heavy for the setup! I have the same one.
Thank you izthebye your suggestion on the metric bolt was just what I needed to know it is greatly appreciated , have a good day .
