Motor behaving weird??

My in-laws have Sadoun's M1 package; Fortec Classic receiver with 31 inch dish, and Digipower motor. Their system is 1.5 years old.

Now the motor is behaving weird. Sometimes it will not move when commanded, but other times, it will move extremely slow. However, if it does stop at a satellite (G3), it will signal lock and give a picture.

Any ideas?? Receiver problem or motor problem? Voltage regulator? I'm tempted to scrap the motor and just stick with a stationary dish for them.

I wouldn't recommend scrapping the motor. Even if you don't want to use the motor, just park it at G3C and then set none in the menu for positioner.

It sounds like it could be moisture in the connectors.

I would recommend turning the receiver OFF before you cut and replace the connector to avoid a short of the 18volt current coming down the coax.

If I am wrong, please correct me on this point.

you are right it is always good to cut power before disconnecting the coax I would personally unplug the receiver that way there is no doubt.
