Dg240 Motor Shaft Degree Scale

Hello,,,,

DG240 degree scale on motor,,,,motor is aligned to mag. south motor
shaft indicates 0 degrees ,,,degree scale shows motor shaft can move
0-80 degree east or 0-80 degree west, I am watching AMC 4 KU 101W.
What should be the degree reading on the motor shaft degree scale?
Or where is 101W on a scale of 0-80 W? Where between 80 E and 80
W is AMC 6 72W?

It would all the depend on your longitude as 0 setting should be at that point.

Re what angle on the motor shaft corresponds to what satellite, this depends on your latitude and longitude compared to the longitude of the satellite. There are a couple commercial web pages that calculate this angle, but I also have this as part of my declination angle calculator... ie:
BJDISCALC2

Down at the bottom there is a USALS Motor angle calculator.
Basically you enter YOUR longitude, and the longitude of the satellite in question, and it uses the latitude already entered at the top, and the calculator figures out what angle the motor needs to turn relative to it's zero, south position to get to the satellite.
