Newbie Sg 2100 stalled
Help! This all seemed straight forward at first.
How exactly should the motor be wired. From the receiver, this is how I have set up: single RG6 to ground block, single RG6 between ground block and 4X switch, LNB #1 RG6 w/messenger to motor, then LNB, LNB#2 RG6 to LNB. All are gounded properly.
Intial test moved dish about 8-10 degrees, then stopped. Now I have blinking orange light and nothing else.
I would have preferred to hook the ground block before the 4X switch.
Do I have the 4X switch wired proper?
How are the tone bursts A + B used? I haven't touched them yet.
Where do I go from here?

I assume you're talking about a diseqC switch.
You should have the coax go directly from the receiver to the motor. It may or may not work the way you have it, or may work some times and not others.
Tone burst A&B are used for some simplified 2 port switches. I have one of these and it's worked great for about 5 years. I've been through several 4 port regular diseqC switches, and they are all kind of flakey. Most switches will take either A or "1" as equivalent, and B or "2" as equivalent. Ie they do both regular and tone burst.

Thankyou wejones for the quick reply.
Yes it is the diseqc switch I was referring to, and I am using a dual LNB.
According to your reply, if I run straight to motor from reciever, then the diseqc switch and the ground block would have to be mounted between the rotor and the dish. Is this the way most are wired?
I have a flashing orange LED on sg 2100 now, and working thru USALS, I tried to go to 97W from my
lat + long, and recieved a message "Range overflow...(forgot actual words)"

Yes, switch between motor and LNBF.
Re orange LED, I forget what that means, but I'm guessing that you may have either entered E instead or W for either a sat location or your own longitude. Another possibility is that your soft limits have been set too narrow, in which case disable the limits.

Thank you, thank you, you pegged it Wejones! That is exactly what happened, I didn't catch that.
I changed the wiring to proper way (absolutely no diagrams, instruction or otherwise came with equipment for wiring 2 LNB and rotor).
I wonder if I should reset hardware, before going on.

Darn, wasn't really clear, it was the E instead of W.
