Now that you've had some time to relax, give us some details as to what you're having problems with specifically.

You said that your motor still doesn't have power. Do you mean that the little green light is not lighting up on the motor?

You said that you don't get a signal. Are you using an external signal strength meter to determine this (and if so, do you have the calibration set sensitive enough to indicate a weaker signal)?

You said that you don't have your receiver hooked up yet. If this is correct, how are you trying to power your motor? The motor will not get power unless your receiver is hooked up and active (unless, of course, you are using some power injector device such as the battery pack that comes with some signal meters).

Have you followed the directions for installing the dish/motor/lnb - including setting the proper inclination on your motor (set the inclination using the lattitude scale to set it to the lattitude of your location)?

Maybe tell us your location, what your current elevation settings on your motor and dish are, and where you are currently pointing your dish, and maybe someone can see an issue with your setup or recommend some possible solutions. Also, it might be worth letting us know which output on your inviacom lnbf you are using. If you are using the circular side and pointing at a linear satellite, you're not going to have much luck.

Don't dispair. These signals are pretty tough to lock in on your first time. There are a lot of variables that are can be difficult to understand for a beginner. Also, be aware that even if you have everything configured 100% the way that the instructions tell you, you still may need to do some fine tuning since inclination markings can be off slightly, and most numbers you'll get online are only estimates for your area.

One of the "tricks" that I used was this:
    Hook up motor to receiver
    Go into setup for receiver
Setup Echo 6 and 8 (110) for USALS with your lat and long
When finished, have the receiver "move" the motor to the above
Setup motor on pole or bracket
Keeping the motor elevation/latitude the SAME ONLY move the dish up or down and the motor/dish ass'y side to side until you get a signal.
    Tighten everything at this point.
The whole point of this exercise is to use the high power DBS sat to "find" your place on the arc. You could certainly use like AMC3 or SBS6 but they are a lot harder to "peak" on because of the power level.
While using this method may not be for everyone, it has saved me a lot of time to "rough set" the dish settings before fine tuning.

if you could give us your zip code we can figure you latitude and longitude
also your motor angles and dish angles that way we can get you started on finding your true south sat and get you aligned.

Ok Linda lets get started first use the receiver and reference the motor set it to zero use a compass and see if assembly is pointing at 166 degrees on the compass if not move the motor on the pole to point in this direction. then set the SG2100 on the latitude scale to 34. then set the dish on the dish scale set it to 25 degrees. now select antenna setup in your receiver and select satellite sat mex 5 set the lnb to standard 10750 set lnb power on set positioner to usuals set TP freq to 12028 horizontal set sr to 3255. now we are ready to look for signal. should have the receiver and small tv set up at dish so you can see any changes in signal. move the dish to sat mex 5 with usuals then slowly move the motor and dish assembly on the pole east or west to find max signal you should mark the pole before you start moving so you can return to your starting point. move 1/16th of a inch and aloww 15 seconds for the receiver to see the change continue along this path till you find a signal if no signal is found raise or lower dish elevation by 1 degree and try east and west movement again continue to find and lock the highest signal. the key to thus is slow small movements.good luck on your adventure. one more thing make sure you have the coax on your lnb hooked to a L port.
