HH100 & Primestar Dish

Though the manual on the HH100 specifies U-bolt mounts for attaching antennas, that does not mean it is impossible to mount a Primestar dish to these units. I recently mounted an old Primestar dish to the HH100 with excellent results. Following Sadoun's recommendation that a PVC "spacer" could be mounted between the HH100 and the oversized mounting clamp of the Primestar dish, I was able to cut a short piece of PVC tubing lengthwise and use the two halves to fill the gap.

It worked very well and was accomplished in less than 45 minutes. Had I to do it again I could probably do it in 20.

Now the HH100 is working rather nicely with the Primestar dish. I might add that this dish works wonderfully with the Primestar LNB, so there really is a way for us "scroungers" to get satisfactory results even if we don't have all of the latest equipment.

I heartily recommend the HH100. It is excellent equipment and works very well. Sadoun has a set of webpages that really helped me in setting up the unit.

Yes, the HH100 is a great little motor. I'm very pleased with mine. Sadoun should be given a literary award for his motor install instructions -- very clear and easy to follow -- I just wish more people would take the time to read them before bouncing in here asking questions that for the most part are covered in Sadoun's webpages.

Re: HH100 & Primestar Dish

I use both SG2100 and Stab100. I like both of them. The Stab is well built, but one disadvantage is its rotation angle, 120 degrees. The SG2100 can go East/West further, up to 150 degrees.
Using the Stab, the furthest East sat I can get is SBS6. Using the SG2100, I can get to Pas9.
