KISB 1 and 2 FTA

Hi All,

I turned on KISB 1 and 2 this weekend and see that they are FTA. But who knows for how long.

Right now, I'm receiving the following in the clear on IA5

KISB1 (KBS?) 12122H2200 video/166

KISB5 (YTN) 11789V25000 video/624

Enjoy the Korean programming in the clear while you can....

Are these channels still FTA? I can't seem to pick up any of them. Thanks.

no they are scrambled again.

not sure about the rest at the moment.. but pretty sure KISB3 is open...
It is generally.. - it's a religious channel i believe...

Looks like KISB 1 through 5 are back FTA again on IA5 - at least for now. Enjoy it while you can.

Why I could't get them any more. Are these channles till on T5 KU?

Are there FTA Korean Stations that broadcast continuously without scrambling? Is it worth me purchasing a FTA unit. I have a very personal interest in being able to watch Korean or Chinese stations.

The only “for sure” Korean FTAs that I know of right now are TAN-4 (EBS America - educational programming) and TAN affiliate CGN-TV (Christian programming). Like all the TAN channels, they can be found on AMC-4

In the end, I finally wound up subscribing to pay channels TAN-1 (KBS) TAN-2 (MBC) and TAN-3 (SBS). $28 monthly, plus you need to buy a "Viaccess" smart card equipped receiver to view them. Ordinary FTA receivers won’t work.
