Checking Elevation/Arc Alignment Tip

After you have basically adjusted the HH mount positioner and get signal readings on your signal meter as you move the dish from east to west, you can adjust your dish even more.

Note: There are no satellites over the Pacific ocean. So if you are on the west coast and not receiving satellite signals in the west, but receiving plenty straight up and all the way to the east, this is the way it should be.

The way to tell if your dish is adjusted properly is to move to a satellite and move the dish up/down with your hand. If you get a better signal moving the dish up or down, then it needs further adjustment.

When you can move to any satellite in the arc, and moving the dish up/down does not get a better signal. Then it is aligned properly.

The problem is when you almost have it adjusted perfectly. You need to move the dish up/down quite a bit for this test.

What I do is to position the dish so it is not centered on the satellite, but to a point where it is just starting to see the satellite on the signal meter. Then I can move the dish silghtly up/down with my hand to see if it gets a better signal.

Im on the east side NY and i like to know 3 things aboute the stab motors

1.Which is the channell that i have to be concetrated on east?
2.Which is the channel on west ( frequents and the name of satellite)
3.And wich is the top one in the midel ( i think is directv - not sure )

I used to install hark moters in Europ, but in USA here im new and thanks to this site im learning fast :wink:

I hope you have time to respond this quetion, if you don't never minde. And if you ask me if i have the system - No i don't right now! the system that you selling "perfect choice" it's whery good deal, and im thinking for that, but the problem is $$$ ops: , soon, soon i will do some extra work.
