Diseqc 1.0 Question

My receiver only supports Diseqc 1.0 (Humax VA-3210)

Can I still use HH motors?
I just want to be able to watch channels on G10R and T5 with a click of remote buttons.

Or do I have to buy Diseqc 1.2 compliant receiver?

Thanks.

Re: Diseqc 1.0 Question

No, your receiver is not able to move a 1.2 H-H mount. If you only want to watch 2 sats, you can put a second dish and use a Disqec 2x1 or 4x1 switch. The receiver will switch these 2 sats automatically.

Good suggestion from dtsexpert

However, if you can't install a second dish or don't want to, then your second option is to get a DiSEqC 1.2 positioner interface and an HH Motor (little bit more difficult to install).

Examples of DiSEqC 1.2 positioner interfaces are here >>

1- (up to 4 Satellite Positions Memory) >> http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/STAB/MP02.htm

2- (up to 50 Satellite Positions Memory) >> http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/STAB/MS110.htm

Nexus-s

I have a Nexus-s card and want to prevent doing any possible damage to it. I also want to add an HH motor to the Dish.

How is the STAB MS110 powered?

If I was to get an HH motor could I use this along with my Nexus card in order to move the dish with the MS110 and thus avoid doing any possible damage to the card and my PC?

Thanks

Re: Nexus-s

I don't have the MS100 so I can't help you anything here, but if I were you, I would spend few more extra bucks to get a TH card which is Diseqc 1.2 compatible, meaning it can be used to move the dish. In your case, think about convenience.
1. With TH card, when you select a channels, it will move the dish to the sat where the channel belong to. In other words, just one click then you can watch the channel.
2. With your Nexus card, you have to use the MS110 box the move the dish first, then select the channel you want to watch.

Dish and motor

OK, I have been reading and it looks like I don't realy need to get a Stab MS110 if I can get a motor that uses a small voltage. I still may get one but...

I have a one meter Dish that is currently in a fixed position on my roof.
I believe that it is made of either some kind of plastic or fiberglass I am not quite sure. I am also not sure how much it weighs as I didn't install it and have no specs on it.

The pole it sits on is 60mm in Diameter. The dish does not have U-Bolts attaching it to the pole. The connector attached to the Dish sits on the pole like a cap and bolts on the side squeeze the connector parts together to hold the dish in place on the pole. Is there a name for this type of dish connection?

Is it possible to motorize a dish of this type? Does anyone have any info on what would be required and how this could be done?

How exactly are adapter rings and HH-extensions used?

Thanks, I really would like to only have one motorized dish big enough to get good signals on as many sats as possible without spending a fortune.

Dish

More info on my Dish: I finally found out that I have a ChannelMaster 1.2 meter dish with AZ/EL cap mount.

Can one of these motors be used on this kind of Dish?

Re: Dish

Some users are sucessful to use a Stab 120 with PVC which make the Stab shaft fit perfectly to the Primstar mount.

H-H motor or second dish

I want to have access to other satellites than T5.Presently,I have a fixed dish (76 cm) on the chimney pointing at T5.My receiver can only accept Diseqc 1.0 . I have a Prochips Digipro NS3001.I've found a Diseqc 1.0 compatible motor at http://www.dvbmaster.com/sm2d2.html
My installer said he have one for 90$.I'll call him for later to have more info.I know that if I can have a motor I will be surfing channels on AMC 6,AMC 5,AMC 3,Galaxy 3C,Galaxy 4R,Galaxy 10R.If I install a second dish,it's gonna be on Galaxy 10R.

So what should be the best for my system?Second dish or H-H Diseqc 1.0 motor?

Thanks for the suggestion Expert

I guess I will get one of these motors. I realy want the Dish to move.
I will have do work on fixing the Dish setup as the pole it is on is not plumb. It is sitting at a 60 degree angle.

If I was you etlam I'd try the motor first. If it works you anly ever need one dish and lnb.

Re: H-H motor or second dish

The info looks kind of interesting since they claim the mount is Diseqc 1.0 compatible. I still don't know how the mount understands the Diseqc 1.0 tone brust to move the dish. If I were you , I would contact the seller to ensure that the info is correct.
Good luck
Michael
