I need a new u-bolt

Guys I need a new U-bolt for my SG2100. I tried Home Depot but they didn't have any. Are there any replacement parts?

If you can't find one, you can fabricate one by taking a length of threaded rod (of the right diameter) and bending it into a "U" in a vise. Be careful not to squish the ends where the nuts would go.

Just saw off what you don't need, clean up the sawed end with a file so the nut will go on, and you should be good to go.

Yup, I've done that tons of times on jobs. Fabricating U-bolts from threaded rods is easy and you can custom-bend them - very nice !! 8)
I find it best to wear a pair of work gloves as the threads can cut into your hands when you make the bend. Also, when making the bend, try to wrap the rod around something round of the same diameter (metal fence post, tree, etc.); this makes for a nice even bend.

You can usually buy u-bolts at auto parts stores . Look for muffler clamps.
