thanks vj9999!

I am ordering the HH100 for my Fortec Star 90cm dish and 786NA receiver. I currently have the dish on Telstar5. Would it be best to initially line up the motor and dish with amc3 or should I try it on Telstar5 first?

Best/correct approach to set up h-h mount is to aim the dish at your truesouth first. Read the instruction at:

Thanks Michael.. I am going to take the plunge but I have concerns. I had a hard time lining up my FortecStar dish to Telstar5. The elevation ended up being much lower than what was calculated (many times). My mounting pole is plumb. Is this a known issue?

As I know, some dish brands do not have correct elevation scale. For setting up diseqc mount, the important things are:
1. Pole must be perfectly vertical.
2. Set the mount elevation scale = your lat (you will know what I mean when you get the mount) and don't touch it.
3. Set the dish elevation. If elevation needs to be adjust, only adjust the DISH elevation, don't touch the Diseqc mount.
4. Lnbf skew is 0 when aiming at truesouth sat.
5. Pick active transponder to tuning the dish.
Feel free to post your questions here.
Have a good time to tune the dish...-

Thanks for the reply!

I have ordered the stab hh100 and I have checked my pole again and it is vertical.

Question 1: Since my true south satellite is AMC3, which transponder(s) should I test with?

Question 2: I have good range to the east and the west. At my location (Latitiude = 36.0 N and Longitude = 86.6 W) which satellites will most likely be my most eastern and most western?

Finally, since my dish elevation is 5-6 degrees lower than what it should be (which I'm now convinced is an issue with certain Fortec Star dishes) I assume I should set the elevation 5-6 degrees lower when I mount it to the motor (just the dish not the motor).

Thanks for all of your help!
