Help! SM3D12 Motor.

PLEASE CLARIFY
My set-up:
-Motor: SM3D12.
-Fortec Ultra.
-Fortec 36" Dish.
1-I used Diseqc 1.2. Lock downed T5. Good signal quality. Stored at #49 location. I did same thing for AMC3 and stored at #48 location, Galaxy 4R and stored at #47. Is there any option to move from one location to another when select a stored location #?
2-I got good signal and downloaded all channels from T5 and AMC3. Does the motor will automatically rotate to correct sat when i switch a channel from T5 to AMC3?
THANKS IN ADVANCE.

A1: this question is answered by #2. You set up the satellite's location in antenna setup, saving it's "spot"
A2: Yes, when you change channels, the receiver knows what sat you are on and moves to the stored location. You'll see "positioner setting" on the screen and some sparklies as it moves.

USALS works so well on Ultra with the Sm3D12 motor, why not just input your longitude and latitude co-ordinates and let the box do all the work?
Then you dont' have to fiddle around with storing the postions via 1.2

Thanks for reply. I tried USALS but got nothing.
I think i'm stay with Diseqc 1.2 for now.
1-I see "Positioner Setting" but the motor does not move. Any ideas.
2-In addition, Is there any way to delete preset location (All Europe Sat.)

I'll answer Q2 first: no you cannot delete the Euro sats.

Check your firmware revision level (it's on the last page of the Ultra setup screens) and it gives some version numbers.

The initial release of Ultra was reported "buggy" when using motors, and folks have had sucess with motor by upgrading the factory firmware level to the latest release.
That might fix your USALS problem. To do this, you need to go to the fortec factory website:
http://www.fortecstar.com/downloads/
and search for Lifetime Ultra. Compare the revision level available with what's on your box. If you decide to update your firmware level,
You will need a few things:

Computer with Windows XP
Serial port
Serial cable (not "null" cable but strait thru Female to Female cable)
Uploader software (on the fortec site) Uploader - v.3.21 ( May 12, 2004)
New factory firmware (on the fortec site) Firmware - v.2.39NTSC ( July 05, 2004)

Search back previous posts here on the risks and how-to's on how to flash your Ultra firmware.

WARNING Flashing your box is risky. Many people have hosed up their boxes by not doing it right, using the wrong software, stuff like that.
If you are nervous about doing this, contact the vendor where you bought your box, they might be willing to help you for free, or small fee. It might be worthwile to pursue that before you risk messing up your box.

Do a little reading here in some previous posts, if you want more help come back and ask.

Receiver-Rotor Communication problem?

PMB You're right again .Updated firmware to Fortec Ultra ver 2.39. Download Al7bar ver 2.39 to receiver. However, the motor response is inconsistent. It's kind of on and off. Sometime motor does not rotate to appropriate Sat. when i change channel. Any idea?
By the way, I have circular and linear LNB attach side by side and both of them connect to Diseqc switch. Switch connects to motor. Motor connects to receiver.
-Linear LNB-
. LNB type: Universal1
.Loc Freq: 9750/10600.
.22Khz: N/A
.DiSeqc: #1.
.LNB power: on.
Positioner setting: 1.2

-Circular LNB-
. LNB type: Standard
.Loc Freq: 11250.
.22Khz: on
.DiSeqc: #2.
.LNB power: on.
Positioner setting: 1.2
Switch problem? Firmware problem?
