Question about H-H motor, SG2100
Ordered from Sadoun a 90cm Fortec Star dish, a Fortec Star Universal LNB Ku band, and a DN Legacy single LNB. I'm happy with the quality of what I got. They looked really nice. Thanks, Sadoun...
Question 1 Is the signal quality/level deteriorated due to the fact that this H-H motor is in the signal path?
Question 2. What is the best DiSEqC switch I can use to hook both LNBs to this dish?
Thanks,

I'll asnwer the first one.. no the motor shouldn't affect the signal. I've ran my cable direct to the receiver and to the receiver through the motor and seen no difference in signal.
Not sure about the switches yet. I still gotta hook up my Microyal.

You cannot use a DiSEqC switch to combine FTA LNBs and DishNet LNBs; they use different switching frequencies.

Thanks Skelp. I will take your word on that. Bobkat, not sure what you mean by "switching frequencies" would you please clarify?

Sure. FTA receivers (DiSEqC) use a 22 KHz tone to control the switch while DishNet receivers use a 21 KHz tone - the two are not compatible with one another.

I should clarify that post; you can use a DiSEqC switch for both LNBs if you are using one FTA DVB receiver connected to both LNBs. If you will be using a DishNetwork receiver and a FTA receiver then you cannot use the DiSEqC switch. Sorry to mislead you.

???
I have 2 dishes (Fortec FTA Linear LNB) and an old Directv dish (circular LNB) connected by this switch:
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/D...i-switches.htm
and I can use DISeqc to change between them just fine with my Fortec Ultra. I select Port A for one, and port B for the other (I have 2 x 1 switch)
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the thread and what's being asked originally...

Bobkat, I have only one FTA receiver. I do not have DN receiver. I'd like to connect both LNBs to this FTA receiver by using the DiSEqC. Same as pmb1010 with the difference that both my LNBs will be on a same dish.
Question remains: What would be a good switch to buy? I heard that panasat are good ones, any other info?
thanks for all your help,

I think just about all those switches are the same quality; if you ordered one from Sadoun it will be fine. I use these cheap switches imported from the Orient and I've never had a dud. Pick up any brand you want. They're cheap enough to be easily replaceable.

OK, In that case then I will order a dual port switch and be done with that.
Thanks for your help.
