Motor with two LNBs on Dish?
I strapped a DSS LNB to the West side of my Fortec Universal LNB, I can pick up FTA channels on 119 plus Music on 119,110,91 and 82. My question is how does this configure into a motor? My Fortec Universal LNB will plug into the motor, what will the DSS outputs plug into?
Does this mean I cannot control the motor if I want to use the DSS Lnb?
I'm installing my motor within the next few days (its a SG2100) and was wondering how I am going to tackle this problem. I also will have a Diseqc switch 2x1 available, but I am unsure how this is going to work with the DSS LNB + Universal LNB.
My plan is to have the dual outputs of the DSS LNB plug into a Multiswitch. This gives me four outputs for DSS/Local Cable TV. One of these outputs I'd like to use for the FTA receiver (a PANSAT 2500a) but my thinking is since the DSS LNB is never connected to the motor in anyway, how am I going to get the motor to move when I go to NASA channel on the 119 bird?
Any ideas? I know people are using this same configuration, but I don't know if they are plugging a DISEQC switch near the dish, or the receiver? If I plug it near the dish, I loose the Multiswitch capability that I had previously with DirecTV. I have a DTV sub and only want to use one dish for DTV and FTA.
Thanks for any ideas...

Re: Motor with two LNBs on Dish?
Install the Diseqc 2 ways between the lnbfs and h-h mount. In your receiver, set the Diseqc port accordingly to your Diseqc connection. Ex: if port1 connected to Fortec lnbf, port2 for DSS, then in your receiver set the Diseq port 1 for all linear sats, port2 for all DishNet/BellVu sats.

So what your saying is connect one output of the DSS LNB to Port 2 of the DISeqC Switch. The Linear LNB to the PORT 1 of the switch then output to the motor connection, which is then connected to the receiver via a single cable?
The problem is doesn't a multiswitch need both (dual) outputs of the DSS dual LNB? I'll only have one available since the other will be plugged into the Diseqc switch.

I am a bit loss about your setup. Can you tell us why you want 4 outputs of the DSS lnbf? If you still plan to use the mutiswitch, you can connect the dual DSS lnbf to the multiswitch, one output of the multiswitch to port1 of the Diseqc switch. Expect the signal degraded since you have 2 switches installed.

My current DTV setup is as follows:
a Dual LNB dish connected to a multiswitch in the house. The multiswitch also has cable TV connected to it, effectively, i've merged the DSS signal and Cable TV into one cable throughout the house. I use Diplexers on each output to split the cable / DSS signal back to the original format.
Now, I've added a FTA system. Instead of having two dishes, I have one 30 " dish with both the Linear LNB and DSS LNB connected (strapped on to the West side of the linear LNB) by adjusting the dish manually I can receive both Ku Linear and Dishnet/Bell FTA signals. Works great but I have to manually point the dish to hit the bird I want to receive and swap cables on the LNB.
Now that I am adding the motor, it gets a little confusing. Where does the switch go? Before the receiver? or just before the LNB and after the motor?
I still want to keep my multiswitch setup so I can still use my DTV setup on any TV in the house. The FTA system will be limited to one TV set.
The more I think about it, it looks like I need to install a 2nd dish just for 101...

Here is what I think: you might consider put up a DirectTv dish for your DTV receiver. The motorized dish is dedicated for Bell/DishNet and other Ku linear. The reason is you can't get both linear and circular at the same time from your motorized dish. There is another way to get arround using "slaving approach" for your DirectTV receiver, but it will be a bit complicated to set up and to operate.
So, the easiest way is to put another 18" dish for your DTV.

My goal is to avoid the second dish, and use the motor to position the specific LNB to the position I want. I'm thinking of strapping a third DSS LNB to the East side of the Linear LNB, then hook the dual ports directly to the DSS MultiSwitch. When I want to use DirecTV I can move the dish using the FTA motor to the 101 spot.(I just have to figure out where the third LNB actually hits the 101 bird) and is there just an option to MOVE the dish without having to tune to a channel?
The DSS LNB on the west side will be hooked up as you recommended and can still be controlled by the motor for use with the Dishnet/Bell FTA satellites.
Do you think this is a possible solution? I already have the LNB, just concerned maybe three LNB's is too much weight for the LNB arm?

Yes, that possible. I think the arm should handle 3 lnbfs. Or you can use mutiswitch to get 4 feeds, then one is used with Diseqc, the other 3 for your DTV receiver.
