Elevation
Will the HH120 automatically adjust the Elevation? Is that what "Inclination 15 to 70 degrees" means?
What are Azimuth limits? E to W 60, 70 80 etc. degrees

Yes, the motor will automatically, by its design, adjust for elevation changes as it moves the dish. Once you set it up to your true south satellite all other satellites will be tuned in as the motor moves the dish assembly. Go to the forums -- there are some great threads on motor alignment there. The azimuth limits are the east and west extremities that you are likely to hit as the motor swings the full span of the arc. You can set the motor's limits as required; although I never set mine and it made no difference to its operation.

Help
OK I know that the elevatation of my HH should be the same as my Latitude (34.21) If I am to align SatMex5 where should I set the elevation of my dish. I am now totally lost :?

the idea of the h-h motor is that your refernec is the satellite on your location that is on due south or close to due south. In the due south the dish is on its height elevation. On the east and west of the that point the dish elevation is lower just like an arc or a half circle.

Can't receive a thing
I understand that. But what elevation do I start with if Satmet5 is the closest to my south. If without an HH, the dish elevation would be 50.4 and knowing that I have already set the HH elevation to 34.2, What elevation do I set the dish to.
I expected some issues with this but not 8 hours worth.

Check out the link below:
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installati...ion-Angles.htm
Once you set every thing correctly, use USALS to move the dish to SAtMext, tune the dish. If adjustment is needed, only adjust the DISH elevation, do not touch the h-h mount elevation.

OIC
I think I understand now.
tanjiabdou:
Zip Code: 91304 PO Name: Canoga Park (CA)
Population (1990): 43675
Location: 34.219671 N, 118.611059 W
1. P=50.3-34.2 (my latatude)=16.1 (my root elevation)
2. I will set the elevation of my dish to 16.1 and my azimuth to 180-13.5(magnetic dievieation)=166.5 my true south.
3. I will then turn on my receiver and navagate to satmex5 and then fine tune the elevation of my dish only and never change the elevation of the HH120..
Do I get it now...
Would one of you please check my math.
I am correct, my hh elevation is the same as my Latatude?
I really thought it would be as easy as DSS. I guess the hh120 threw me for a loop.
Michael: I can't tell you how many times I have been to that link over the last 2 weeks while I was waiting for my Lifetime Ultra. Now that it is here I was so excited I could not put it all togather. Somtimes maybe to much info is a bad thing. This is my first FTA and I have heard it cen be a little frustrating. Now I know...
Thanks to both of you for the help. I try it after church in the morning, if its not to hot.
 The air temp here today was 93 so it was over 100 on the roof....

Re: OIC
Everything is correct except #1 (dish elevation)
Dish elevation = P-(60-Lat) = 50-(60-34) = 24 deg.
Make sure:
1. Correct LO, Universal: low 9750, high 10600 (you might get confused about this, once you get the receiver, you will know what the heck I am talking...:-) )
2. Use active transponder to tune the dish.
3. Key in Lat/Long correctly when using USALS.
5. When using compass, do not place it close metal devices.

No Luck
Well I did what was discribed. My pole is perfect. And I have triple check all dish settings. All I seem to get level of 68-72 no quality and the HH never moves. Cable in is good in both directions. What could be the problam now?
Anyone know an installer in the LA area :?

verify that you entered your long/latitude correctly in the positioner settings USALS menu. Longitude should be West not East. If you see E, change it to W using the volume up key on the remote.
Also, check your wiring and connectors for loseness. Don't overtighten the f-connectors on the motor. Only hand tightening should be suffecient.
If you use the DiSEqC 1.2 commands does your motor move :?:

Well It's set to west and the connectors are only finger tight. the HH is rotating but SatMex5 is so close to to my magnetic south HH will not move. I was able to move the dish to T5 and then back to refrence 0. NO signal from T5. Once again I have checked to be sure that my true south 166.5 is correct and that elevation of my dish and hh are correct. 34 for the hh and 24 for the dish.

Put the motor back at 0 position.
1- Make sure the mast is level
2- Make sure the mast / motor / dish are all on the same center line pointing to true south.
3- Try a different satellite like G10R.
