Fortec Star

Fortec Star is great, I have an HH Motor on mine w/usals. If you are going to use USALS look at this new Fortec Star Ultra that is about to come out, its pricy, but sounds great.

If you are dead set on using 1.2 and not USALS, look at other options before choosing Fortec Star, I used 1.2 for a while with it and it seems to have troubles remembering Sat positions, but when I use USALS with Fortec Star it functions trouble free, excellent really. Overall Fortec was not bad with 1.2, but maybee there is somthing less frustrating.

Re: Fortec Star

I have both Fortec 786v3 and Lifetime using lastest firmware, never have any problem with Diseqc 1.2. In fact, I use Diseqc 1.2.
But if the H-H mount is USALS compatible, I recommend to use USALS, it will save you lot of time.
If you are not rush at all, wait for one more month to get the Fortec Ultra. It should be available some time in Feb. I think Jamal takes pre-order now, in return you get free shipping as I beleive. Email Jamal.

LNB

If I want to receive DBS and KU satellites should I use a universal LNB or should I add a dish only for Nimiq 1 and 2 because I'm mostly interested in the reception of these satellites in DBS.

Re: LNB

No, universal will not get all circular channels. You need to use a circular lnbf to get BV/DishNetwork FTA channels.
