just looking for more info

I am just looking for more into to see if i got what i think is correct. My lat. is 33.79 N and long. 117.28 W. And i have a bec 6600+ reciever and yes i also have the SG2100 motor>everything is installed the motor works greeaat.when i inlined the dish i pointed everything at satmex 5 which i hope was the right sat to aim at. The only problem i am haveing is i can't get any sats below the 79* mark. I have scratches my head for the last few days wondering y.Unless i am pointed at the wrong sat from when i first started if i am would some one please give me a half rear ends idea which one i should have started at lol. Uknow i will admit if i was to get a free-to-air system all over again i would buy the motor first then the rest. AND YES I AM NEW TO ALL THIS FREE-TO-AIR STUFF oh and one more thing lol i have two Perfact Vision 3 x 4 multi switchs is there any way i can hook two dishes up to one reciever.I know the 3 x 4 multi switch was made for a dual lnb but was just wondering since i have two would it still work if i ran two lnbs to the first switch and then crossed the wires to the sec switch to reverse the polerity so that way i would get both polerity's 13v and 18v. Any answers would be very help full. Well thanks for taking the time to read this. HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!!

Re: just looking for more info

The 3x4 won't work in this case. Get a Diseqc 2x1 or 4x1. I recommend the 4x1 eventhought you only have 2 dishes. Just in case you plan to put up more dishes, it's ready.
What you did is correct. SatMex@118 is your true south. Remember, the further the dish moves towards EAST/WEST, the lower the Dish elevation is. Where do you mount your dish? Any obstruction?
One of my Diseqc 1.2 mount is on the roof. My truesouth sat is G10@123, I can see PAS9@ 58.
In your case, if the mount set correctly and you have clear view, you should see all the way to 53W.
Michael
PS: Besides this problem, how well your dish tracks the arc (both East and West)? Having this info, some of us might figure out the problem.

Hmmmmm

ok if i did get the 4 to 1 switch how would i add another reciever on.So yes that would be a total of 2 or 4 dishes and 2 recievers.mainly the reason y i asked that is because i wanted to get a blind searh reciever so at least maybe i would be able to watch one feed lol. Can anyone tell me how many more channels they would get if they had a blind search reviever then compared to what lyngsat tells them. IF you wanna tell me what channels you get other then what lyng sat tells you please e mail me

Re: Hmmmmm

Fuzzy,
Q " how do I connect 2 or more dishes to 1 receiver?"
A: Diseqc 2x1 or 4x1 will work.

Q: How can I hook up more than 2 receivers to the dish?
A: Simple way is "slaving". Connect the signal output of the 1st receiver to the signal input of the second receiver. BUT setting up this way, the second receiver is dependent on the 1st receiver interms of polarity, meaning if the 1st is on H, the second one can only view channels on H.
Assuming the lnbf is dual and you are willing to run another cable, then connect the second receiver to the second lnbf output. Setting up this way, both receiver operate independently.
If you get more dishes up, it will be more complex to set them up, we''ll deal with that later...:-)
Hope this help.
Michael
