Having loads of trouble, guys.

My post is dead level. I'm on a third story roof, no obstructions.

I think my difficulty is with the angle of the dish on the STAB motor. It has two 'sliding' positions, I'm not sure what the angle is ...

Any guidance ?

Todd.

For your location:
Long: 87.9 W
Lat: 43.0 N

So your Dish Elevation should be at 23.5
Motor should be set at 43
True South: 180

Trying it again today (12/26) ...

Thanks to Jamal and Michael for the help, so far.

What are the right settings on my Fortec Lifetime receiver ?? I'll try to point to AMC3 @ 87deg, but what else ?? Universal LNB, Diseqc ? etc ...

I have the Lifetime, STAB100, universal LNB (FSKU-V)

I understand the coordinates provided above.

I'm specifically referring to this screen:

Thanks !

Jamal, Michael and everyone !

Haven't been able to get back here, due to holidays, etc, but my system is in, installed, and working properly !! Thanks to everyone that helped !

With my (very patient) father on the roof and me inside watching the meter, we peaked it up wonderfully ! I'm enjoying DXing the sats !

Now, I'm anxious to update the receiver, but will wait awhile until I'm really good and familiar.

Thanks again !

Todd.

From the HH-motor-installion, wouldn't the Motor be set to 47+/-6.6 from the Elevation and Declination chart? I am confused on this one to since I live at Lat: 34N Log: 118.25W. I originally set my HH120 Motor to 34.0, but from the Elevation and Declination chart, it says to set at 56 +/- 5.51 degrees.

Thanks.

Check the link again. There is a formular for calculating the Dish Elevation. You will need to find P value first.

Hi dtsexpert,

I know how to get the dish elevation using the formula dish elevation = p - (60 - latitude). So my dish elevation is 24.5 degrees. I was referring to the HH120 elevation. On the installation guide it says to use my latitude for elavation (34 degrees) but on the Elevation and Declination chart, it says to use 56 +/- 5.51 degrees if I am at 34 degrees latitude. Now, I do not know what to use.

Thanks.

Neobry,
Mount elevation = your lat.
