Dish 311 receiver 36 inch dish, which lnb?

Hi,

I have a 36 inch dish and a dish 311 receiver currently pointing to 61.5 for international channels using a standard lnb.

I would like to re-point to 118.7/119 since the channels are moving. I realize this requires a special lnb, but does it have to be the one from the Dish 500+ or Dish 1000 that will work with the 3111 receiver?

Which LNB will work with the 311 receiver and the 36 inch dish?

If there is an lnb with both sat signals coming from one do I absolutely need a DP 34 or can I run the cable directly from the lnb to the receiver and do a check switch to recognize the 118 sat?

Thanks

welcome to the forums.

You will need this LNBF assembly:
Dish 500 Plus 110 118.7 119 LNB Block

A DP34 switch is required to combine the 2 LNBFs since this block does not have a built-in switch.

Not sure if these LNBF assembly will fit on your 36" dish. You may need to adjust the to the focal point and improvise the LNBF holder.

So even though I only want international channels on 118.7, I will still need a DP34?? If so why?

Thanks

because the receiver needs to see 119 also. You can actually get by with a DP21 and combine the 119 & 118.7 together

Ok thanks for the answer, but can you elaborate a little as to why the receiver needs to see both satelites to work? What exactly is required from the 119?

Thanks
